Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Ascent Labs ("we", "us"), the operator of Pawpy. By creating an account, installing the app, or using the Pawpy website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Pawpy.

If you downloaded Pawpy from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the standard terms of that store also apply to your use of the app. Where those store terms conflict with these, the store terms win for matters the store controls (such as payment processing and refunds).

Pawpy is a dog care tracking app. It helps you log potty events, sleep, meals, and other day-to-day care for your dog, share that record with the people you care for the dog with, and get reminders and estimates (like the potty-timing prediction) based on what you have logged.

Pawpy is not veterinary advice and is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Predictions, reminders, schedules, and any health-adjacent content in the app or on our blog are general informational tools based on the data you enter. They can be wrong. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for any question about your dog's health, and seek immediate veterinary attention in an emergency. Never delay or ignore professional advice because of something Pawpy showed you.

You sign in to Pawpy with Google or Apple Sign-In. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in identity secure. You must be at least 16 years old to use Pawpy.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or from the web at pawpy.app/delete-account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or create risk for us or for other users. If we terminate your account for a reason other than your breach of these terms, and you have an active paid subscription, you may be entitled to a refund per the store's refund policy.

Pawpy's core features are free. Pawpy+ is an optional paid upgrade sold as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) or a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google through your App Store or Google Play account; we never see or store your payment details.

Auto-renewal

Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

Cancellation

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; deleting the app or deleting your Pawpy account does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling, Pawpy+ stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.

Refunds

Because Apple and Google process all payments, refunds are handled by them under the refund policy of the store you bought from. Request a refund through the App Store or Google Play; we cannot issue store refunds ourselves.

Price changes

If we change the price of a subscription, the new price applies from your next renewal at the earliest, and you will be notified in advance through the store's standard price-change flow. If you do not agree with a price increase, you can cancel before it takes effect.

New Pawpy+ subscriptions may include a free trial. The current trial length is shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. You are not charged during the trial, and you can cancel any time before it ends to avoid being charged. When the trial ends without cancellation, the subscription starts and your store account is charged. Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Free trials are limited to one per store account.

You own your content. The dog profiles, photos, activity logs, and notes you add to Pawpy remain yours. We claim no ownership over them.

So that the app can work, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, transmit, back up, and display your content, solely to operate, maintain, and improve the service. This includes showing your content to the other members of any pack you share it with. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for anonymized pack-shared records retained for the remaining caregivers as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the content you add. Only upload photos and notes you have the right to share.

When using Pawpy, you agree not to:

• break the law, or upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights;
• probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service, or access it with automated tools other than the official apps;
• attempt to access other users' accounts or data, or packs you have not been invited to;
• reverse engineer, copy, resell, or sublicense the service, except where the law gives you that right regardless of this clause;
• circumvent subscription checks or use Pawpy+ features without a valid entitlement.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Pawpy, including the apps, website, design, logo, prediction engine, and all content we created, belongs to Ascent Labs and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the apps on devices you own or control, for your personal non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the rules of the store you got the app from.

Pawpy is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of predictions, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We work hard to keep your data safe and the service reliable, but we cannot promise the service will always be available or that estimates like potty timing will always be right.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Ascent Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Pawpy. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 50 euros.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including statutory consumer rights in your country of residence.

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, where Ascent Labs is established, and disputes will be subject to the competent courts of Romania. This does not affect any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in: if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings there. Consumers in the European Union can additionally use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes (new fees, materially reduced features, or new obligations on you) will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect. Non-material changes are reflected by bumping the last-updated date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Pawpy after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
